"There's an old saying in Tennessee - I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee - that says, fool me once, shame on - shame on you. Fool me - you can't get fooled again." - George W. Bush.

It is in that same vein of intellectual and inspirational leadership that I am here today before you all to announce that the rumours are true - Cyrus is returning to World of Warcraft for the third time.

Since April 2013, Cyrus has been waiting patiently for Camelot Unchained. We have seen Beta 1 pushed back from February 2015, to March 2016, to "we are in hard crunch", to "when it's ready". We have done our best to stay active in some form or another as a community while we wait for this Holy Grail of PvP MMOs, and despite everything we are still committed to this game when it finally reaches the point of launch.

However it would be an understatement to say that the Cyrus natives are getting restless. Our casual gaming nights were a lot of fun for a while, but we have never been casual gamers at heart. We don't want to be confronted with the depressing reality that is our crappy lives - we want to sink hours upon hours into a virtual version of ourselves that is better in every way - better looking, more in shape, possible even female, and with a glorious pixelated wardrobe that speaks of our daring and courageous deeds on the battlefield.

A typical Cyrus group lines up for a picture: Bruce, Dave, Steve, Alan and Dan.

World of Warcraft: Legion has received widespread positive reviews proclaiming this to be a welcome return to form. Of course this doesn't mean the playerbase will be any less toxic and non-committal, however we are starting off with a solid core membership and hope we can find some new recruits along the way to join us and ensure we don't have to suffer the nauseating experience of filling our guild groups with PUGS.

We will initially focus on getting our members to level cap, and then arrange groups for the endgame dungeons and raids. Once we have assembled a reasonable set of gear we will begin looking to form Arena and Rated Battleground teams. Of course if there is anything else that presents itself along the way - open world PvP for example - then we will gladly hop on board for some action.

New plan: Let's get to 2200 RBG rating and then NOT ragequit the guild!

Our scheduled evenings for guild activities will be on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays starting at 19:30 and ending before 22:30 UK time. Prior notice will be given as and when these are arranged via our forums.

MMOs are not what they used to be, and sadly neither are most MMO players. Too many are casual, unwilling to commit to a schedule, entitled little brats! But Cyrus is an 'old school' MMO guild, and we are looking for members who do want to become part of a greater community, who do want to put the effort in and earn their achievements rather than get carried.

Although we have played World of Warcraft before, we are not expecting a quick return to our previous form. Some of us are somewhat rusty when it comes to MMOs, and we are aware from previous experiences just how challenging it can be to get a group of players together and collectively improve in terms of skill and co-operation to reach a high level of play. If you are looking for a quick carry, this is not the opportunity for you.

What we can hopefully offer though is a good community, clear organisation, committed players, and a constant focus on progression. If you have the patience and maturity to put the effort in, you will have a great time with Cyrus and we will again reach our goals together.

If you would like to join Cyrus on this exciting re-adventure, please feel free to post an application in the recruitment section of our forums.
